Subspace Clustering with Missing Data

چکیده
1 Subspace clustering with missing data can be seen as the combination of subspace clustering and low rank matrix completion, which is essentially equivalent to high-rank matrix completion under the assumption that columns of the matrix X ∈ Rd×N belong to a union of subspaces. It’s a challenging problem, both in terms of computation and inference. In this report, we study two efficient algorithms proposed for solving this problem, the EM-type algorithm [1] and k-means form algorithm – k-GROUSE[2], and implement the two algorithms on both simulated and real dataset. Besides that we will also give a brief description of recently developed theorem [1] on the sampling complexity for subspace clustering, which is a great improvement over the previously existing theoretic analysis [3] that requires impractically sample size, e.g. the number of observed vectors per subspace should be super-polynomial in the dimension d.

Sparse Subspace Clustering with Missing Entries
We consider the problem of clustering incomplete data drawn from a union of subspaces. Classical subspace clustering methods are not applicable to this problem because the data are incomplete, while classical low-rank matrix completion methods may not be applicable because data in multiple subspaces may not be low rank. This paper proposes and evaluates two new approaches for subspace clusterin...
متن کاملThe Information-Theoretic Requirements of Subspace Clustering with Missing Data
Subspace clustering with missing data (SCMD) is a useful tool for analyzing incomplete datasets. Let d be the ambient dimension, and r the dimension of the subspaces. Existing theory shows that Nk = O(rd) columns per subspace are necessary for SCMD, andNk = O(min{d , d}) are sufficient. We close this gap, showing that Nk = O(rd) is also sufficient. To do this we derive deterministic sampling co...
متن کاملRough Fuzzy Subspace Clustering for Data with Missing Values
The paper presents rough fuzzy subspace clustering algorithm and experimental results of clustering. In this algorithm three approaches for handling missing values are used: marginalisation, imputation and rough sets. The algorithm also assigns weights to attributes in each cluster; this leads to subspace clustering. The parameters of clusters are elaborated in the iterative procedure based on ...
متن کاملMissing data imputation in multivariable time series data
Multivariate time series data are found in a variety of fields such as bioinformatics, biology, genetics, astronomy, geography and finance. Many time series datasets contain missing data. Multivariate time series missing data imputation is a challenging topic and needs to be carefully considered before learning or predicting time series. Frequent researches have been done on the use of diffe...
متن کاملFrom subspace clustering to full-rank matrix completion
Subspace clustering is the problem of finding a multi-subspace representation that best fits a collection of points taken from a high-dimensional space. This type of structure occurs naturally in many applications ranging from bioinformatics, image/text clustering to semi-supervised learning. The companion paper [3] shows that robust and tractable subspace clustering is possible with minimal re...
